Uglies

Ok, so I have only read the first book in this series, Uglies, but I cannot wait till the library notifies me that the next book is ready for me! This is YA, no sex, no language, nice and clean. It's a dystopian novel in which the way the leaders of the world have seen to deal with the inequality with which people treat each other is, at age 16, to have everyone undergo a serious operation to make them "pretty". This book follows a girl who is approaching that day, and in the wake of some new information and circumstances, is not sure being "pretty", all that she's ever wanted, is all it's cracked up to be. And it's really not a book about chick vanity like it sounds. Trust me, there's a lot more to it.
