Timing Troubles

So yesterday, I ran London's Run half marathon for the 5th time. It was a beautiful day, there was a bit of a head wind that was a bummer for about 60% of the run, but the course was nice, smooth, and I had gotten a good night's sleep. I actually felt really good, put forth a lot of effort, and am nice and sore today as a result. So as I'm cranking it out with everything I've got left towards the finish line, I spot the clock. 2:04. What?! My fastest time is 2:15, then it goes 2:19, 2:45 last year, and 2:31 last October. So 2:04 is like, not only beating my personal best, it is KILLING it! I grabbed my friend Amy W who finished 3 minutes ahead of me and asked her if this was for real. We went back and looked at the clock again, and started celebrating. No way did we feel like we had gone that fast, but hey, who's to argue with the clock. As we stood there and waited for another running partner to finish, still congratulating each other on our record finishes, we hear the announcer let us know that the clock was about 19-20 minutes ahead. WHAT? Darn it. I actually ran it in 2:23, which I am definitely proud of, but dang, 2:04 would have been nice. They really should have fixed that clock.
