Tumor

So Hannah and I went to the Dobson high school orientation/information night last night. Still being on crutches as she is for the unknown variety of tumor in her leg, she draws attention. 2 of the principals flippantly asked her what she did to her leg, I'm sure expecting a response of broke it/sprained it, etc. I told them she has a tumor in her leg. Oh the blank faces. I know it's terrible but it was kinda funny to see them become speechless and not even able to come up with a response.

Update on the tumor: we go today at 2:00 for a CT scan to determine if it is, indeed, an osteoid osteoma (benign bone tumor treated by zapping with high heat through a needle). We haven't heard back on the blood work to determine if there's an infection. Hannah still hobbles around the world on crutches in case there is a stress fracture behind the tumor. And we wait. I am trying not to get hysterical, but I confess, I'm twitching. So I try to find humor in humorless places, like last night at the high school. Forgive my lame attempt at distracting myself from how awful this might all turn out.
